Fridays

Now that I am a stay at home mom, I absolutely love Fridays.

Why?

Because Fridays are Jesse's Saturdays.

It used to be so hard to get in the car and go to work on Fridays when I knew that Jesse would be home all day (especially since most Saturays--and obviously, Sundays--are filled with church events so that we don't really get them to ourselves).  Now, Kayleigh and I get to enjoy Fridays with him!

Last week, Jesse told me not to plan anything for Friday.  He had something in mind.  I love surprises!

We left the house around 11 on Friday, and realized that it was really our first outing by ourselves.  Sure, we've gone lots of places together since Kayleigh was born, but every time we'd gone somewhere, it was to see someone or spend time with family.  This was our first family outing with just the three of us.  It was a wonderful day!

Jesse drove us out to Victoria Gardens, a huge outdoor mall.  He took me there once when we were dating, but I hadn't been back since.  We used a gift card for lunch at Red Robin, and then spent the afternoon windowshopping and enjoying the beautiful Autumn day.  Kayleigh was as happy as could be tucked sweetly into her stroller.  She slept the day away.

We're going to have to get better about asking people to take pictures for us so that we can be in them together!

It was a wonderful day.  Just what we needed--a day to just be together, to enjoy our new family, to use up some gift cards and feel frugal and rich at the same time.  (This SAHM thing is definitely going to cause us to tighten our belts, but I don't think we've ever been happier.  It's all going to be worth it!)

Thank you, God, for days like Friday that we can enjoy together!

One Month

My sweet Kayleigh Grace is one month old today.

Who knew one's heart could be so full?

I love every inch of her.

She is so kissable, and I love that she's started smiling and cooing back at us.

I love that the world is so full of wonder to her.  I'm so excited to share in her experiences.

Thank You, Lord, for putting this beautiful little miracle in our lives.

I've been horribly behind on this blog, but I have posted on Kayleigh's blog...
